Job Description
  • Manages all aspects of Human Resources at assigned location(s) and provides excellent customer service to location's team members as well as local management
  • Assists in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategy, and provides counsel to interpretation said policies and procedures, as well as coordinates the resolution of specific policy or procedure related problems

HR Manager

Factory LLC, in Bethlehem, PA. is looking for a dynamic QA Manager to join our team. This individual will provide Quality expertise, leadership, direction and support to our Stuffed Puffs brand on-site at the facility in Delafield, WI. The ideal candidate with have significant prior experience in confection food manufacturing environments. This position would be best suited for the individual seeking to be part of our entrepreneurial environment.

The position will have direct management responsibility for a QA staff. The QA Manager will ensure facility and team compliance with all government food safety regulations, as well as GFSI third party audit and customer requirements.

Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct Quality Assurance team to develop HACCP and Food Safety Plans to ensure compliance with current SQF requirements, FDA and FSMA regulations, as well as to all other State, Local, Regulatory and third-party audit requirements
  • Direct Quality Assurance team in the development and ongoing maintenance of plant quality systems to include the documentation of policies, procedures, internal audit programs, standard operating procedures, sanitation standard operating procedures, and documentation of product specifications  
  • Manage and ensure compliance of analytical testing results and activities to product specifications  
  • Ensure ongoing activities support a comprehensive Environmental Monitoring Program 
  • Direct QA staff in conducting all activities (internal audits, mock recall, mock crisis management exercises, food fraud and food defense risk assessments, Kosher audits, Organic audits, etc.) to ensure the site is continually audit ready
  • Supervise, lead, and engage QA Tech team in root cause problem solving, statistical process control activities, forward-thinking inspection and preventive auditing skillsets.
  • Ensure full adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and Sanitation activities to maintain high productivity and process integrity 
  • Provide leadership and support, at the Management Team level, in establishing and directing the Quality Improvement Program for the plant 
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities via leading initiatives to reduce cost utilizing tools for lean processing, statistical process control, six sigma projects, etc.
  • Lead the site in developing and sustaining a culture with Food Safety Awareness
  • Direct the training necessary to instill strong Quality, Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation and Food Safety awareness
  • Provide manufacturing plant assistance in registering for applicable certifications 
  • Remain up to date with current with FDA guidance documents and FSMA requirements to assist in communication with all partner locations
Preferred Experience/Education
  • Minimum of BS in Food Science or other related field 
  • 10 or more years of progressive Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing 
  • 5 or more years of Supervisory experience
  • HACCP certification required; PCQI certification desired
  • SQF practitioner (desired) with prior experience implementing, verifying and validating programs compliant to GFSI requirements
  • Ideal candidate with have confectionery manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated experience developing Quality policies and procedures, including Quality measurements and key performance indicators, root cause analysis and problem resolution
  • Must have strong analytical skills and knowledge of statistical tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

QA Manager

Job Description
  • Directs workers and assign tasks and establish priorities
  • Leads and conducts team meetings
  • Performs and directs workers to perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Performs and directs workers to perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs and directs workers to perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Directs employees to perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Performs and direct workers to perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.

Summary of Objectives

This hands-on Plant Manager role is responsible for overseeing the activities to meet business objectives. Plant manager is accountable for all aspects of the plants performance/KPM’s (Key Performance Measures) and will ensure the objectives are attained in a safe, cost-effective manner that’s consistent with company policy and procedures. Responsible to delegate authority to managers and supervisors, manage all functions involved and coordinate operations for the plant. Plant Manager helps operations meet production requirements, even if it requires hands-on participation in the areas of Process, Packaging and Material Management.

Principal Duties/ Responsibilities
  1. Overseeing all operations of entire facility.
  2. Ensure planned KPM’s efficiency and performance are met or exceeded daily.
  3. Control cost to meet or exceed budget.
  4. Ensure and implement safety procedures.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree: 5 -10 years experience in an upper management role in manufacturing
  • Without Degree: 10 – 15 years experience in manufacturing, with 5 plus years in an upper management role in manufacturing.
  • Type of Experience: Experience in manufacturing, food manufacturing and confectionery are big pluses.
Travel:

Ability to travel 20%.

Job Description
  • Provide technical support to the Operations, Quality and Maintenance groups for the reduction of manufacturing defects – identifying root causes and developing corrective/preventative action
  • Respond to manufacturing issues as they occur; trouble-shoot process lines and equipment to reduce manufacturing downtime
  • Review current production processes and recommend improvements to equipment design and operating procedures to improve employee safety, product quality and batch-to-batch consistency
  • Provide process technical support to the R&D and operations teams during product scale-up activities – including developing process parameters and manufacturing instructions
  • Develop SOP's, operation manuals and train operations personnel on implementing best practices for processing and packaging lines
  • Prepare and modify flow diagrams, P&ID's as well as equipment and instrumentation specifications
  • Assist the Quality group to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements – HACCP, FDA, FSMA etc)
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Sales, Finance and other departments as required
  • Support new equipment controls development through validation, start-up, and continuous process improvement.
  • Support PLC maintenance and programming on Allen Bradley systems.
  • Act as key resource in troubleshooting controls and PLC issues in the processing facilities.
  • Basic control of valves, pumps , packing , mogul , TCU’s , aerators

Requirements
